Start the evening at one of our ticket sales outlets: Brass Ring Carousel Museum (503 1st Ave W), or the Flinn Block (222 1st Ave). Purchase tickets from the ticket sale locations beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2013.
If you purchased pre-sale tickets, you can redeem them at the Flinn Block ticket sales location beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3, 2013.
When you purchase your tickets to the Wine Walk, you will be required to show ID. Please note that WE ID EVERYONE, and cannot sell you a wine glass (or redeem a pre-sale ticket) if you do not have your ID and are not physically present.
Admission to the Wine Walk is $15.00, which includes a Wine Walk wine glass, and 5 scrip tickets (redeemable for five tastings), a handstamp, and the map of the participating merchants and wineries. You may purchase additional scrip tickets for $1 each (sold in bundles of $5).
We have asked each winery to charge 1 ticket per taste, so we hope you will be able to get 5 tastes of wine with your initial ticket purchase. (It can be helpful to plan ahead, and buy more than the initial ticket purchase, based on how many tastings you would like to have, so you don’t have to wait in line more than once for tickets!)
Between 4:00 and 8:30 p.m., you will be able to enjoy tastes from at least 21 different Oregon wineries, while enjoying the ambiance and atmosphere of beautiful Downtown Albany. If the crowds of years past are any indication, we anticipate over 1,500 people sampling the latest vintages from local wineries as they stroll through downtown shops and restaurants. And, of course, everyone loves to take a peek inside the hidden spaces visible only during the Loft Tours. For more information about the loft tour, go here.
We will be having a raffle for anyone who visits several wineries. When you receive a taste, you can get your map stamped. After you have all the stamp boxes filled in, return the entry form to one of our ticket sales locations to be entered to win.
If you like a particular wine, the wineries will also have sealed bottles for purchase. Please help us out by not opening any bottles of wine you purchase until you return to your home. Our OLCC license does not cover consumption of alcohol in excess of 1-ounce pours! This is also the reason that wineries are not allowed to just fill up your glass if you give them more than one ticket!
Also, we ask that you remain inside each tasting location while you have alcohol in your glass.
The Upstairs Downtown Albany Wine Walk is a great opportunity to check out the downtown Albany merchants; if you would like to purchase something, the merchants would be happy to oblige – and they may even hold your purchases for you, so that you can continue on the wine walk without having to haul around a bunch of bags!
Remember that pre-sale tickets are available. For more information, check out our page on Advance Ticket Purchases.
